Portuguese House

This place is a GEM! There has never been a restaurant like this in Huntsville, ever! From the moment you step inside and are greeted by the owners adorable daughter, you're taken to a place of old world charm with a whimsical esthetic. Once seated (under a sea of hanging foliage), the general manager, who is also the owners son, greeted us with bread and dips and was every bit the discerning maitre d'. I was apprehensive to have dinner here, as I'm not a fan of any kind of seafood (which is most of the menu), but have eaten here twice now and both times have had incredible meals, made by the owner and father of the family. This is truly an unforgettable, extraordinary, family run restaurant that i hope stays open for a very long time!

My parents and I had an amazing dinner here. First time goers but heard amazing things from mutual friends. This place did not disappoint. Service was amazing. The food was delicious. Can’t go wrong with anything on this menu. The grilled calamari and sea bass special were my top picks of the night. Would definitely recommend this to my friends and family. Will come again for sure.

We had the pleasure of dining at this beautiful restaurant today, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience! The interior is stunning, with such thoughtful and cozy decoration that it immediately feels like home. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, with a lovely family-oriented vibe that makes everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing—everything we ordered was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. You can really tell that it’s made with care and love. On top of that, the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. They made us feel so special throughout our visit, and their service truly made the experience even better. This is definitely a place we would love to come back to. Highly recommended!

From the moment we walked in, the service was warm and welcoming. The food? Incredible. Every dish was packed with flavour and felt like a true taste of Portugal. You can tell they put a lot of heart into what they do — everything from the presentation to the portion sizes was perfect. The Portuguese House was a great find. We were almost turned away at 4:30 PM for not having a reservation—even though it wasn’t full—so definitely book ahead. The young host was lovely and welcoming. The food was excellent—the seafood risotto was full of flavour and the seafood was cooked perfectly. The Portuguese tart was also a standout. Service was attentive and friendly throughout.

Spent the weekend in Huntsville with the family and the fur pup. They were so accommodating with our husky and wonderful hospitality. Food tasted amazing and fresh. Would highly recommend it!

First off, you'll definitely want to stick to the safe side and reserve a table or call just before you go to make sure you can get a table. Came here for dinner with my mother and we were greeted right away with a rode celebrating international women's Day which was super nice of them. Staff were all extremely nice, service was a bit slow but they were also very busy. All of the food we had was delicious from the apps to the mains, even desert. We had the calamari, the seabass, grilled octopus, and Portuguese tarts. Will definitely come back again.

First off they know how to cook squid. Very delicious is what my wife said and she ate everything on her plate which is rare. I had the seafood linguine which was awesome. I even asked for more bread so I wouldn't waste any of the great sauce. To top it off the young lady that served us made us a good couple capacino's. Thank you sky.
